Family Christmas Pictures

Sorry these are a little late of pictures for Christmas, but I thought I'd wait till we had baby Megan. Here are some pictures of us in our house by our Christmas tree. I thought I'd also take some fun pictures of Megan in her Sunday dress even though I wasn't able to take her to church today. Jackson is still loving being a big brother as you can see. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas, and will have a Happy New Year!

Welcome home Baby Megan!

So, we had a little bit of a surprise this past Friday. I was due on Christmas Eve to have our baby girl, but the doctor told me that we would plan on delivering me on Monday(would have been today) since I was already dilated to a two and 75 percent effaced. However, our baby girl had another plan. I woke up on Friday morning to notice that I was kind of wet. I wasn't sure if my water had broken or what, but I thought it would have been gushing water coming out like it did with Jackson when my water broke. So, I figured I'd call my doctor and inform her what was going on. She told me that she wanted me to go to the Birthing and Delivery area to make sure everything was okay. Dave had a meeting he was suppose to be at at 7, but that wasn't looking too promising. We woke Jackson up and we jumped in the car. We got to the hospital and they checked to see if my water actually broke. They said it had, but was slowly. We were planned to stay until we had our little baby girl. This was a little bit of an unexpected event I would say. Anyway, Megan Maatje Pendleton was born on December 19 at 6:38 p.m. weighing 7 lbs. 8 oz., 20 inches long. (Maatje is a Dutch name from David's mom's side. The "j" is pronounced like a "y", so you say her name like "mafia" but with a "t" instead of an "f") Here are some pictures of us at the hospital right after the she was born. Jackson was a little unsure about her at first, but then he really warmed up to her. He wanted to give her kisses, hugs and hold her all the time. He's been such a wonderful big brother already. We have been so blessed with two wonderful kids.

Grandma Pendleton came out here to help us out with having the baby. It's been great having the extra help with Jackson and all.

GOOD NEWS!

So, yesterday we went to the doctor to find out how I'm doing with the pregnancy and all, since I only have a week left. She told me that I progressed a lot and am now dilated to a 2 and am 75 percent effaced. Great news! So, she said to just plan on Monday to deliver the baby. We have it all scheduled to go in at 7 in the morning to have the baby, unless she comes earlier, time will tell. Wow! Crazy stuff! We totally can't believe we're going to have 2 kids. I'm so ready though to not be pregnant anymore. Although, I know that as soon as that baby comes out I'll be asking for her to go back in.

Our Trip to Alabama

We had so much fun a few weeks ago, we took a pre-Thanksgiving trip out to see our closer family we have in Birmingham, Alabama. We had such a blast going to see them. They used to live in Lexington, Kentucky which was of course a lot closer, but we are still happy to have them some what close. It was a 7 hour drive, but well worth it. Jackson really enjoyed seeing his cousins. They had fun playing football outside together even though it was a little cold and rainy. Jackson just loved wearing his cousins football helmet as you can see. He acted like a true football player. I don't know if he's just watched too much of the BYU Cougar football games or what, but he has found out how to be ready to play the game.

Jackson also had his first little sleepover with the boys watching Shrek 3. He didn't last very long after the movie ended, but it was nice while it lasted.

We also were happy to be able to stop at two more temples that we haven't seen yet. We weren't able to go inside that day, but we love at least just stopping and seeing them. If you can't see which one they are on the signs, it's the Birmingham, Alabama and the Nashville, Tennessee temple. They looked pretty much the same, being that they are the newer style of temple, but always still a pretty temple. Two more off the list, and still quite a few to go.

Jackson really needed a break from driving in the car, so we let him run wild in the leaves next to the temple grounds. The leaves were still really pretty there.

Indianapolis Museum

Jackson and I had so much fun going to the Indianapolis Museum with some friends. He just loved seeing the huge polar bear, race car, riding the horse on the carousel with his buddy, Shawn, playing in the water area, etc. It is always such a fun place to go to.

As you can see we've been trying to get Jackson ready to have a little sister. Jackson enjoyed dressing her up as you can see.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We had such a fun Halloween this year. Jackson was able to understand what was going on more. He's getting older so holidays are a lot more fun with him now. Jackson was a 101 Dalmation doggy this year, as you can see. He just loved being a dog. He's such a huge fan of dogs that he was so excited to be one. Here are a few fun pictures we took of going Trick or Treating and of our pumpkins we had fun carving.

This house was so cool. They went all out with decorating for Halloween. Jackson loved going to this house the most.

This was Jacksons pumpkin that we carved with a fun face.

I thought it'd be fun to attempt carving Thomas the train this year and Dave found a fun idea to do in his pumpkin. Do you get it?

A few nights before Halloween our ward had a fun Halloween Party where they had dinner, played games, had a chili cook off, pumpkin carving contest, trunk or treating, and lots of other fun things. We had so much fun going and seeing all of our ward friends all dressed up in their costumes. Here are a few pictures of us at the Party. This year I was dressed up as a Vet doctor along with Jackson being a dog and Dave was Roger, the owner of all the dogs in the 101 Dalmation movie.

This is Jackson acting like a dog. Bark, Bark!!!

Indianapolis Zoo

We had so much fun this previous weekend. We went up to the Indianapolis Zoo. Jackson just loved it! We were also lucky because they had a "ZooBoo," they called it. They decorated the whole Zoo up for Halloween, there were fun Halloween activities, and kids were all dressed up in their Halloween costumes. I wish we would have known so we could have dressed Jackson up in his costume. We had so much fun though seeing all the different animals that were there. They also had Trick-or-treating for all the kids, so Jackson loved getting candy as you can see below. Jackson picked up saying trick-or-treat real quick. This year has already been a lot more fun with Jackson since he understands it more.

Jacksons favorite animal at the Zoo, so he says, was the HUGE elephant. Here are a few pictures of all the cool animals we got to see.

There was a little train that went around on a track in the Gardens area. Lately Jackson had been a huge train fan and so seeing the train go around and chooing was so fun for him. He would be able to push the button you see and make the train start going.

Jackson has gotten so much better at going out of his comfort zone in touching animals. He just loved touching the goats and elephants as you can see.

We got to see an elephant get a bath.

We couldn't believe how long of a tongue the giraffe had. They sure liked those sweet potatoes they would give them as a special treat. We had fun watching and taking pictures of them sticking out there huge, long tongues.

We also got to see a dolphin show they had there.

Jackson and I here in front of a tank of sharks. Dad was daring enough to touch them, not for mom though.

Jackson got this fun little Lowe's apron at the Zoo to build some fun games. I had to dress him all up with the hat, hammer and all.

Jackson and I went with some moms in our ward to a place close by called Apple Works. They had a fun tree tower with a huge slide, mazes, hay rides, fresh apples from the farm you could pick, farm animals to pet, and also other fun things the kids could play on like this tractor, hay tower, and pumpkin house. Jackson had so much fun playing there with all his friends.

Jacksons such a flirt, already driving all the girls around. J/k Ha..Ha...
